Pt. 6 A Tiny Trip to Byron Bay 🌴
So, you'll never guess where I was?
Well yeah, it's in the subtitle, I know. It's BYRON BAY.
And I love Byron Bay.
Ever since I went there for the first time in 2015, I kinda sorta had a feeling I would end up there for a little bit in my life. But it was also a "too good to be true" kinda scenario.
But guess what?
I AM MOVING TO BYRON NEXT MONTH.
WOOOHOOOOOO 😃
Anyways.
I went on a little trip over there for trial shifts at my future workplace, but I also took the liberty of showing you how I go about trips like this and a couple of Byron highlights of course.
Byron Bay is a small village, but the vibe is so good that it's very well-known in the backpacker and nomading community.
And it's not just Byron that's a beautiful place. The entire northern part of New South Wales going into the Gold Coast is just a magical place of green hills and blue water.
It has had the Domi stamp of approval ever since 2015 and I am delighted I will become an official resident soon.
And it's such a lovely place to visit in winter too. Especially if you don't enjoy the crowds. Because it does get busy in summer. SUPER busy. But winters are just wonderful, especially on bright and sunny days like I had while I was there.
Looking at the cost breakdown of this 4-day trip (just to show you how I didn't have to spend a lot of money to have a magical time):
Return flight from Adelaide: $300
Accommodation: free, because I flew up there to do a trial shift in a hostel so they offered me free accommodation while I was there. But a dorm would approximately be around $40/night this time of year.
Food and drinks: $80. So, I prep food on trips, just like I do when I'm home. That's how I can very easily travel on teenie tiny budget. I did my shopping at Woolies and Aldi and treated myself to a froyo and a couple of chais.
Keep seeking inspiration from simple things, I promise you your life will look brighter once you experience the impact!
Watch the video and enjoy ☀️
